Workshop 10 - Coaching as a Theatrical Act

About this talk

There are many ways that coaching and theatre intersect. This workshop is an interactive, practical session exploring those ways, from narrative coaching approaches that dip into the world of Stanislavski, via a Brechtian relationship with catharsis, to more contemporary models of applied and immersive theatre which invite audience members to cross a threshold, explore new worlds and imagine potential futures.

We will look at how to apply some of those concepts into a 1:1 coaching experience from subtle ways to heighten your coaching space, making it more theatrical and therefore out with normal societal conventions, to more direct exercises that take familiar coaching approaches and push them further using theatre techniques as a guide.

This session is perfect for any coach who is keen to explore how their creativity can play a bigger part in their coaching practice. Come along to this session with a playful mindset and a curious mind.
